THIS SHOW HAS BEEN CANCELED DUE TO UNFORTUNATE & LAST MINUTE ISSUES. WE APOLOGIZE SINCERELY FOR ANY INCONVENIENCE THIS MAY HAVE CAUSED. WE HOPE YOU CAN MAKE IT OUT TO 2720 AGAIN SOON!
Bass Science started in the summer of 2007 as 2-man Live P.A., making
Dub-hop / Glitch step bass music, fusing dubstep, glitch hop, IDM and
dub into a fresh new sound that is simultaneously filthy and extremely
clean. In less than a year since their inception, they have created a
prolific body of work and electrified dance floors across the globe:
call it glitchstep, call it dubhop, call it what you will, Bass
Science’s hybrid sounds are generating a cabinet-rattling buzz. In the
past 2 years they’ve dazzled crowds at seminal festivals and clubs
from UK’s Glade to LA’s Low End Theory, with globetrotting gigs
spanning Asia, Europe and the US and sharing stages with STS9, Flying
Lotus, Nosaj Thing, Eliot Lipp, and more. Bass Science’s tracks,
meanwhile, have received enthusiastic support from influential DJs
like the BBC’s Mary Anne Hobbs and Annie Nightingale, Resonance FM’s
Nick Luscombe, with regular rotation on Dubstep.FM. 2010 is a changing
of an era for Bass Science. Captained by Mattb, Bass Science has
transformed from the live p.a. set of the past into a live hybrid act
with the inclusion of Devin Landau, a drummer native of Chicago, IL.
Rooted in jazz, funk, hip-hop, punk, and dnb, one could expect a
complete transition from the day-to-day “dj experience” into something
more rocking than your senses are ready for. He can stomp it out, and
slap it around, all in the blink of an eye. The new live set covers
all the bases, with material from Mattb, Bass Science, and RND,
melding a live experience with flavors of deep, rootsy dub,
gangster-ass glitch, and banging low-end dubstep. Don’t turn your back
on us, because Bass Science will continue to blow up, and not just the
sound systems.

FUR began in 2008 as Bryce Isbell’s solo effort with the intention of developing into an experimental, poly-collaborative electronic project consisting of Isbell’s friends and musical peers. As of 2010, FUR added a new member, Gray Saint Germain Gideon, previously of Ghosthustler. With the heartfelt notion that music is the purest form of self-expression, Fur’s music is sheer autobiographical abstraction.
Having received excellent reviews from the likes of Britain’s The Guardian newspaper, Pitchfork Media, Gorilla vs. Bear, and other glowing press reviews from around the world. Fur’s talent, drive and infectiously unique sounds create an endless list of possibilities for the band. FUR is currently wrapping up recording their Freak Emotion EP and a split album with newly minted Dublin producers; Planet Mu’s Solar Bears, and will begin their West Coast tour in July, 2010.
“Dumpstaphunk is the best funk band from New Orleans right now.” -New York Times
Formed in 2003, Ivan Neville’s Dumpstaphunk was initially put together by keyboardist Ivan Neville on a whim in order to perform a solo gig at the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival. Ivan called in cousin Ian Neville (guitar), the double-bass bottom of both Nick Daniels and Tony Hall, and drummer Raymond Weber to round out the show. Named after a song Ivan had recently written, Dumpstaphunk’s informal performance became that of immediate legend. The project has since grown from chance side-project into what is now widely considered to be New Orleans’ most popular musical export. The band was recently voted 2007’s “New Orleans Best Funk Band” by both Offbeat Magazine and Gambit Weekly, and performs at some of the nation’s largest music festivals such as Bonnaroo, Voodoo Fest, 10,000 Lakes, and High Sierra.
