It is too easy to rant and rave about the album, Freedom’s Journal “Righteousness Exalteth a Nation” [Skank Productions]. Ossie Dellimore, together with the Soldiers of Justice, create a powerful ambience of love and unfaltering consciousness as well as a superb contribution to the world of roots rock reggae. From St. Vincent, Ossie Dellimore’s tenor voice is strong and confident as it delivers the conscious messages within his lyrics. Several tracks on his album are worth mention, and the bass lines on this CD are bold, driving the music at a rock-steady pace. This is not one of those CDs that you buy for just one song. Almost every track is a concrete example of what modern roots rock reggae is at its best.

Since immigrating to the United States, Zion’s music has spread from the Caribbean to the Southern and Midwestern states where he has built a sizable following as one of the few Caribbean artists in these Hip Hop dominated communities. With his sights set on the seasoned Caribbean audiences of the Northeast, Zion wowed the producers of New York’s premiere outdoor Reggae festival Irie Jamboree in 2005 and 2006. Zion was the sole roots artist invited by Dancehall legend Bounty Killer to perform at the New York Launch of Saddle to the East 2006, where he won over scores of hardcore Dancehall fans. His biggest goal is to come back home to help his people and spread the message of hope, togetherness, and love. His greatest accomplishment is recording at Tuff Gong Int’l Bob Marley’s studio in Jamaica. Now Zion is working on his new album which will be released on Skank Records. The album is called “Strictly Roots,” look for it soon!
