Carson C. Mann, one of the best slide guitarists in the area, was “goin’ to California” and we weren’t going to let him leave without a celebration. But now he’s staying after all! Help us show him how would’ve sent him off with an unforgettable rock and blues experience at St. Louis’ Best New Club.

Red House is one of the best all around blues bands we’ve ever seen in St. Louis. Led by Tommy Carpenter and Carson Mann on guitar, the group boasts a heavyweight lineup including Nate Carpenter (Hammond B3 Organ) and Cannon DeWeese (drums) – members of Messy Jiverson, Dave Rothschild (percussion), Tom Carpenter (bass), The Little Feat Horns, and vocals by Gerry Gianopulos. Their set takes listeners through the cream of 60′s and 70′s Rock covering acts like Jimi Hendrix, The Allman Brothers, Eric Clapton, Steve Winwood, Stevie Ray Vaughn, B.B. King, and much more.

Vaski
+ Spankalicious + Hendrix + Meechie
8pm Doors / 9pm Show / 18+ / $10adv-$12dos / Buy Tickets
dubstep / dubstep / dubstep

When DJ/Producer Vaski sent his demo to rottun manager Excision, he had no idea what he was getting into.. With his first two tracks storming the beatport top ten charts, Vaski hit the studio – returning to his Electro House production roots for the massive Terror Dome EP featuring the hit single “You Wouldn’t Understand.” Vaski’s productions and local DJ sets began to gain attention of international promoters and DJs. He spent the next season DJing at many Twin Cities venues, playing at the famed First Ave, Dinkytowner, and The Loft all the while working on his next work. World on Fire EP shook not only the beatport charts but the entire dubstep community. All five tracks peaked in the top 25 in dubstep on beatport, two tracks in the top ten, and the famous “Get Down” claiming its rightful place as a number one hit. This massive release rocketed Vaski to where he is today: smashing through his international tour, gaining rapid popularity for his unconventional stage presence, and continuously producing ridiculously catchy bass lines. On the horizon for Vaski is the continuation of his tour, and his biggest production to date.
Spankalicious is bounce. Making his mark on the electronic music scene in the Midwest with the high energy that he brings to the stage, creating the vibe needed to get the rage started! Kevin Moore (aka: Spankalicious) is currently based out of St. Louis, Missouri. Coming from an extensive background in rudimental percussion/drumming has allowed Spank to read rhythms inside and out. Shown through scratching, drumming, as well as seamlessly blending and mixing, Spankalicious thrives on taking the crowd on a journey.
Meechie will open the evening at 9pm, followed by Alex Hendrix at 10pm. Come out early and let em’ warm you up.

December 11th at 7pm will be ArtDimensions‘ annual ‘Off The Wall’ event. In past years this event has been held at City Hall. This official public building was transformed into an art, music, and food extravaganza. Many of our organizers will be headed abroad to Indonesia to be art ambassadors this winter. So to keep things simple this year we’re moving the event to 2720 and hoping to raise money to support their trip.

Lazer Sword is back!
w/ Lorn + 18andCounting
Glitch-Hop / Electro / Crunk
8pm Doors / 9pm Show / 18+ / $12 ($3 minor surcharge) / Buy Tickets

Lazer Sword is the duo of San Francisco-based LOW LIMIT and LANDO KAL. “We like to make music that sounds like your favorite top 40 rap shit chopped up into a tornado filled with razor blades and molasses, or maybe like Frank Zappa rocking the home made Lil John tank-top at the rooftop party!”
The Milwaukee-based producer Lorn was first discovered 8 years or so ago on scratch message boards where people would eagerly swap his beats. Now he has become the first non L.A-based artist to be signed to Flying Lotus’ Brainfeeder label. There he’ll be releasing his first official album, Nothing Else, in early June. When I found out Brainfeeder was releasing the album last year it all somehow made sense. Lorn’s album was the perfect way to link the scene’s current state back to those early years of experimentation that so few people know about.
Stan Chisholm (a.k.a. 18andCounting) is an emerging interdisciplinary artist from St. Louis who studied at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. His drawings, paintings and mixed media installations reveal a growing cast of over 700 characters or mascots that serve as a visual lexicon for the moods, personal attributes or feelings explored in his work. Chisholm’s work has been exhibited at Laumeier Sculpture Park, City Museum & the Contemporary Art Museum in St. Louis, and most recently with a solo exhibition at The Hyde Park Art Center. His DJ sets encompass a wide array of music samples but it’s always danceable. It’s his birthday, so show the kid some love! He’s one of most motivated and accomplished local artists you’ll ever meet.
