Tue 3.29 – The Indobox

With its roots in Northeast PA, The Indobox is growing to a national level, captivating listeners, and starting dance-parties everywhere they go, bringing something they call DanceRock… Without exception, every Indobox show inevitably turns into a wild dance party.

Guitarists Mike Carter and Joe Zarick honed their song-craft together for years before the band took shape in Boston in ’05. And in a short period of time, The Indobox has established their presence almost nation-wide through about 400 gigs in 18 states from Maine to Colorado, extensive promotion and a heavy online presence. The Indobox has also performed at 3 of the last 4 Camp Bisco festivals, as well as at the Gathering Of The Vibes festival and as a featured act, performing 2 sets @ The Up North Music & Arts Festival, all in the midst of a newly national touring circuit and supporting groups like The New Deal, Brothers Past and The Egg (UK).

Still being a largely grassroots organization, The Indobox has released 4 full length CDs entirely independently, the most recent being “Adventure Rock” (2009), and with plans to release another studio effort in 2011 as well as typically relentless touring in support of these releases.

Instrumentation:
Mike Carter – Guitar and Vocals
Quinn Ferree – Drums
Steve Learson – Bass, Synths and Vocals
Joe Zarick – Guitar and Vocals

Mon 3.28 – Mark Instinct + High Rankin

Nasty Rumor, Connector, and Loyal Family unite to bring you a special Wrek Sessions Live Broadcast featuring Mark Instinct and High Rankin.

+ Heezy, Mohawk, and Alex Hendrix

8pm Doors / 9:30pm Show / 18+ / $10 cover ($5 minor surcharge)

Mark Instinct was always into the sounds of electronic music, but it wasn’t until his introduction to drum and bass, at the age of seventeen, that he decided it was time to add his own mark on music. With impeccable taste and skill sets, early bookings with Hive, Pendulum, Noisia and Tech Itch started to gain him recognition in bass circles around Western Canada.

At the age of 20 years old, when Mark Instinct started experimenting with music production, he finally found his niche. Beginning with drum and bass, and dabbling in other genres, such as house, it was the grimy stripped down sounds of dubstep that ultimately caught his attention. Creating dark nasty beats, synonymous with the Western Canadian sound, Mark Instinct soon began to chisel out his own distinctive style imprinted on releases “Sketchy Maxx” and “Fword”.

Attention from record labels Rottun, Dubline and Aufect recordingss lead to the release of “Invader” and “Badman Sound” in 2009, tracks which were soon found on the top-ten playlists of many international DJ’s. Forthcoming “Destroyed” and storming “15 Karat EP” are slated for release in early-mid 2010. Additionally, tracks released on Betamorph Recordings “The Humunaoid EP” & Aufect Digital’s “Love me Nots” release were featured in the top ten charts of Juno, Chemical Records, & Digital Tunes.

Dubstep dandy and local bounder, High Rankin is one of the scenes more eccentric artists. His music brims with character and personality that engulfs the listener as well as causing the obvious dance floor riot! He has an excellent moustache and will fight anyone who disagrees. A man of unhindered honesty, it seems, as the above is the first story of business that he utters throughout this short trip around his musical lifetime. But High Rankin’s introduction to the world of music was far more simple than his introduction to the one of business. “It seemed like the easiest way to pull chicks as I couldn’t play the guitar, and I thought it would be cool”. See, simple. But when you get down to the nuts of bolts of what High Rankin is actually about, there’s not only an inimitable personality behind everything that he does, but an unfaltering ethic and politik stemming from the most simple elements of his musical back and foreground.

ElectroLouis.com is St. Louis’ home for electronic music, an electronic music community with an internet radio that features local and national artists every night of the week. Dubstep / IDM / Drum ‘n Bass

NiT GriT + DNAEBEATS + Freddy Todd

8pm Doors / 9pm Show / 18+ / $15 ($5 minor surcharge) / Buy Tickets

NiT GriT is the devious machination of 24 year old San Jose, California native, Danny Beall. A relative newcomer to the scene, Dan has rapidly gained a substantial following in the 8 months since the inception of this project. Influenced by genres such as IDM, D&B, Glitch, and Breakcore, Dan has spent the past 4 years producing and experimenting under several different monikers. His latest undertaking dissects elements from dubstep, glitch, and grime, and cauterizes them together in the most visceral and precise manner possible.

San Francisco-based producer, composer and blap pioneer DNAEBEATS creates soundscapes that travel through genre after genre. After years of childhood classical performances around he world he knew that music was his calling. While on tour in Europe he first heard hip hop and electronic music from a tour manager who played him cassettes of Aphex Twin and Digable Planets. Both albums blew DNAE’s mind in completely different directions, and at that moment he knew his path in life was to make electronic music.

Freddy Todd is a man a plan a canal panama. Mr. Palmer makes electronic music or dUbstep//GliTcH HoP//LazEr CrunK, if you wanna get fancy. When he was a lad, he grew up on the drum set and then moved to the piano/keys and guitar/bass. These combined skills offered his musical synergy to disperse in the elctronic scene. Making a genre of its own, Freddy Todd will go down in history as raunchy ba$$-beater and one of the most innovative of the internet music craze of the 2010’s. He has three cats and a dog named Buddy and Harrison’s pool. His EP’s include Ghost Dance Messiah (2009), Hallowz Eve (2009), and iLLegaL summer ‘stache (2010).
