The Alley Cat Revue 10 Year Anniversary Show - One Night Only!

Saturday, September 5 @ 9:00:pm

Ten years ago, in the summer of 2005, a show unlike anything St. Louis had seen before took to the precarious catwalk stage of Rue 13 in downtown St. Louis. A talented variety of women from all walks of life, who all shared a common attraction to glitter, glamour, and showgirls came together each and every Saturday night to put on a show. With gimmicks and talents of every variety, they sang, danced, flipped and twirled their way into the hearts of many and into STL nightlife history. The Alley Cat Revue was born and lived on through a smoky, sexy haze for nearly 4 years, adding new members along the way, saying goodbye to original Alley Cats, and venturing off into new productions.
And now, for the first time, we welcome back all of the original and newer members for a wild, raucous, thrilling retrospective, celebration, and spectacular burlesque revue! Original acts will be revamped, signature acts will be performed with a live burlesque band, and favorite group numbers will come back to glittery life!
The Alley Cats are back!

Starring The Alley Cat Revue!

Gogo McGregor

and featuring the Alley Cat Orchestra!

Plus, costume and photo displays, art work, Alley Cat merchandise and vending and so much more!

PHACE - 09.10.15http://2720cherokee.com/event/phace/http://2720cherokee.com/?post_type=events&p=2563

Thursday, September 10 @ 9:00:pm

More details coming soon…

Only two words are necessary to summarize the creative work of the artist named PHACE – Pioneering and Progressive.

PHACE is the alias used by Florian Harres, an electronic music producer, DJ and label owner from Hamburg, Germany. Over the past decade he not only defined his very own style of cutting-edge electronic music but also toured most corners of this planet, building a large, faithful global following.

His wide-ranging back catalogue of music includes three full length albums (PSYCHO, FROM DEEP SPACE and RAUM UND ZEIT), various EP’s (e.g. NOW & TOMORROW, ENERGIE, MOTOR, VITREOUS, and more) plus countless singles and collaborations (e.g. BRAINWAVE, COLD CHAMPAGNE, PROGRAM, DESERT ORGY, and more).

Phace’s music is released on the world’s biggest indie labels such as VISION, OWSLA, MAU5TRAP, SHOGUN AUDIO, VIRUS, CRITICAL, SUBTITLES (amongst others), and of course NEOSIGNAL RECORDINGS, his own imprint.

His sound is best described by twisted bass, rhythmical experimentation, high contrast ambience, deep cinematic themes, explosive energy, and yet human analog soul and funk. This unique approach is constantly piquing demand for appearances at clubs, festivals and media around the globe.

With support from artists such as e.g. AMON TOBIN, NOISIA, SKRILLEX, ANDY-C, PENDULUM, GOLDIE, SKREAM, KOAN SOUND, MISANTHROP, CULPRATE, ALIX PEREZ, BLACK SUN EMPIRE, MEFJUS, ROCKWELL, MAYHEM, ICICLE, CHASE & STATUS, FRICTION, FEED ME, KILL THE NOISE, OPIUO, one can easily say that within this style of music it is quite hard to find a comparable contemporary artist shaping a sound and musical movement in a similar way.

Eligh w/ DNAE + Rhymesayer’s deM atlaS - ***FREE SHOW***

Wednesday, September 23 @ 9:00:pm

Bass · Hip-hop · Rap · Trip-hop · Live electronica

The Crow Fall 2015 “80 HRTZ Tour”

Eligh, a self-described “genre-breaking, obsessive bass fiend” has continued to sustain himself as a salient figure for over fifteen years within the increasingly fickle and rapidly revolving world of hip-hop. The Los Angeles native has maintained his respected status by fearlessly veering from a the traditional trajectory which is often limited to beats and rhymes. Instead, Eligh has chosen to fabricate projects that incorporate the gritty sounds of the UK dub scene, the unorthodox styling of indie rock, the lush guitars and honesty of folk music, and the complexity of jazz, all without losing the listener in a musically esoteric composition.

2010 sees Eligh releasing his seventh official solo album on November 9. The album, Grey Crow, almost exclusively produced by Eligh, is a testament to his resilience against a drug addiction that nearly took his life five years ago. Grey Crow will be the first official solo release from Eligh since 2003’s Poltergeist. Even with the seven-year gap between solo projects Eligh continued to contribute to a plethora of projects within that time frame which, most notably include, Living Legends albums, “Classic” and “The Gathering”; The Grouch & Eligh, “No More Greener Grasses” and “Say G&E!”; Eligh & Jo Wilkinson, “On Sacred Ground: Mother & Son”, and many more.

Eligh’s musical interest was piqued as middle schooler, and along with some friends formed the now defunct, yet legendary Log Cabin crew. That same crew would ultimately end up producing many of Los Angeles’s prominent hip-hop figures, including future crewmates, Murs and Scarub. After a stint in the Bay Area, which lead to a serendipitous gathering of minds, ideas and styles that formed the now world famous Living Legends crew, Eligh returned home to Los Angeles. Since returning home, Eligh has tirelessly produced classic material, being the main contributor to what many would dub the trademark, “Living Legends sound”. Outside of being a studio musician and rapper, Eligh has relentlessly toured and has performed on stages across North America, Europe, Asia, and Australia and continues to deliver a captivating live show with his trademark rapid fire delivery, whether as a solo act or with his Legendary brethren. As a producer, Eligh has provided music for notable acts such as Living Legends, Murs, Rass Kass, El-P, wrestler John Cena, and continues to be a sought after producer by his peers.

Michal Menert is an electronic music artist and producer based in Denver, Colorado. Throughout his youth, his father exposed him to a wide variety of Eastern and Western music, giving Menert fertile soil in which to plant his musical visions. His passion for original analog sounds coupled with a vast knowledge of music history has given him an even larger platform from which to produce. A multi-instrumentalist, he incorporates live guitar and keys into his final production for a full sound and rich feel. By tapping into the world of music that surrounds him, Menert twists and turns day-to-day inspirations into music that is all his own. Menert worked as the co-producer with Derek Vincent Smith on the chart topping Pretty Lights album Taking Up Your Precious Time, and was a natural choice to be the first artist to join Pretty Lights Music in 2010 with the release of his solo album, Dreaming of a Bigger Life.  Michal’s second album with PLM, the critically acclaimed mega-LP Even If It Isn’t Right, dropped in the spring of 2012. Within just a few short months, Menert bounced out of basement dives and into headlining slots at some of the most prestigious venues in the country. Over the years he has shared the stage with a number of musical luminaries including STS9, Bassnectar, and more. His musical collaborations have brought him a wealth of inspiration, and led to the formation of a number of ongoing side projects including Half Color (with Paul Basic), Club Scouts (with Mux Mool) and Manic Menert (with Manic Focus). And 2014 saw the culmination of a musical dream with the debut of the Michal Menert Big Band – an 18-piece ensemble led by Michal that performed his catalog in front of thousands, including a November 2014 stop at a packed Fillmore Auditorium in Denver, and an upcoming April 2015 performance at Colorado’s famed Red Rocks Amphitheatre. A dynamic and ideological producer, Menert has always taken a community driven approach. He works hand in hand with producers he chooses for his own record label, Super Best Records. By collaborating and working closely with a new generation of hip-hop & EDM producers, he’s bringing a new musical vision to life without any imposed limitations. In 2015, Michal will release the highly anticipated Space Jazz LP on Super Best Records. His sound combines vintage vinyl samples with rich analog synthesis and organic, hard-hitting beats. It’s a fusion of yesterday’s elements and tomorrow’s ideas. Catch him on tour throughout 2015. – See more at: http://menertmusic.com/about/#sthash.kNZk7cAg.dpuf
